Last year Mike and I were driving around listening to the radio, when I heard that a local station was giving away trips to Hawaii to promote the new Hawaii 5-0. I jokingly told Mike we should call in, and the next day, we did. I won the very last trip they were giving away, which consisted of a 4 day 3 night stay in Waikiki, and airfare to Oahu, plus some spending money. We finally used our trip on September 2.

We arrived in Hawaii Friday afternoon, went to the beach, and then to eat. On Saturday, we woke up early, and headed out to do some shopping. I brought 3 pairs of shoes with me, and managed to break 2 of them on the first day, so shopping was a must. Plus, we had to get some souvenirs.

After that we drove up to the Dole plantation, to do a maze, and get some Dole whip. Honestly, there wasn't much to do there, and I wouldn't recommend it. We spent the rest of the day at the Polynesian Cultural Center. I wish we had more time there. It was beautiful and entertaining! We went to some demonstrations, took a canoe ride, and watched their show.

On Sunday, we went to the local ward, but completely missed sacrament. Even with a GPS, we drove right past the ward building. I have never seen a church like that! It was so beautiful and unique. After church, we drove back up to La'ie, but this time to visit the Temple. Hawaii has the most beautiful temple grounds. We made a quick stop at BYU, just so we could see it, then headed back to the beach. Since it was Sunday, we didn't get to swim, but we took lots of pictures, and sat and relaxed till it became to dark to see.

Monday we only had a few hours to spend till we had to leave, so we swam at Waikiki. I couldn't get over the beauty of Hawaii, especially the color of the water. The whole trip was so quick, but we were thankful for it. I don't think Mike and I would have ever spent the money to do this, so we are grateful for the chance we had.

It's so hard to believe that this beautiful baby is already 6 months old!

Although she isn't too smiley in these pictures, Harley is one of the happiest babies I have ever seen. She is constantly smiling, but on this day, she was making the funniest faces, as she tried to crawl across the couch.

I love this baby, and I am so thankful to Breana and Jordan for letting me play with her!

Baby Addison

This beautiful girl is the newest addition to our extended family. Little Addison was born to Lisa and Brian on July 26. What a joy and a blessing she is to our family. We have all fallen head over heels in love with her already!

I love being an Aunt. I love being able to be at the hospital to see my nieces and nephews (most of them) right after they are born. I love watching my siblings and their spouses ease into parenthood. I love to see the immediate love they feel for their babies.

Mike's cousin Brendon, and his wife Stephanie have been staying with us for the past couple of weeks, and will be here for a couple more. It has been so much fun having company every day. We just love having people at our home!

Los Angeles Bridges

My final project for my landscape class: pictures of bridges in L.A. I noticed while driving on the 110, that there are some awesome bridges in L.A., that have been really neglected and destroyed. I wanted to show how beautiful they are.
However, L.A. is one of my least favorite places. I got lost more than once, and the bridges smelled really bad. Luckily a friend (Kimi) went with me, because I never would have braved this area alone.
Despite the trouble though, I am thinking I would like to go photograph some others.

Fun With Harley

During Lisa's shower, I got a chance to hold and play with Harley. Anyone who knows me, knows I love my nieces and nephews. They are the most beautiful/handsome children, and the most intelligent. I am so thankful to have them in my life!

Crystal Cove

A few people (Vina, Lisa, Breana) have told me that I need to visit Crystal Cove, so when we got an assignment for my landscape photography class, I thought this would be the perfect place to shoot.
I can't believe I was missing out on this beauty for so long. Crystal Cove is gorgeous, and it is not far from where I usually visit the beach.
These are just a few pictures, including some that I used for my project. If you haven't been to Crystal Cove, go! You won't regret it.

Arwen and Bryan's Wedding

Last Friday, Arwen and Bryan were married. What a fun wedding! The morning started off bright and mostly clear, but as the ceremony drew closer, it began to rain. It rained as all of us walked down the aisle, but as soon as the Wedding march started, so did the sleet and hail. It was funny, and beautiful at the same time. The ceremony was cut a little short, as most of the people in attendance did not bring an umbrella, and as soon as it ended, so did the rain. They say rain on your wedding day is good luck, so hail must be even better.
Arwen looked so beautiful too! I wish I had taken some pictures of her while they were outside. I loved everything about her dress, it fit her style so well.
We are so happy for you Arwen and Bryan! You make a beautiful couple, and we love you!

And, just because I can't resist. I had a great time dancing with these two. The reception was so much fun. I have the best family!

Our first assignment for my Photoshop class this semester, was to make a scanogram self-portrait. I had no idea that you could take a picture with a scanner, but it is awesome. Our school is fortunate enough to have a great lab with higher end scanners and computers. I just love the way this turned out! I think I will experiment with making scanograms some more, when school is over.

One week ago this beautiful baby girl was born. I must say, there are some cute kids in my family! Congratulations Breana and Jordan. Little Harley is already so loved.

While Breana and Jordan were waiting for the arrival of Harley, I got to spend a couple of days with Kennedy. That is pretty much one of favorite things to do. That girl is just too cute! A few weeks ago, I made her this shirt for Kennedy, using my Silhouette. It was my first time using the Silhouette, and my first time using a freezer paper stencil. I have to admit that I messed it up a little, but this picture hides my mistake well. It was really fun, and I'm excited to make some more things!

Yep, that's right. My beautiful sister Arwen is engaged! Mike and I went with her and new fiance Bryan to take some pictures in Pasadena. What a fun day! These two are so much fun, and we couldn't be more excited and happy for them! Congratulations you two!

Turning 1

Yes, I know another post about Kennedy. I can't believe it has almost been a year already, but on November 3rd, this beautiful girl will be one!
Breana and Jordan let me do some one year pictures of this precious girl, and wow, she is really on the move! I think I learned a lot about doing photographs of a toddler though, mostly, don't expect them to stay put.
I love this girl, and I am so thankful to have her in our family, she has the best personality, and the funniest scrunched nose smile.

Last week, Arwen and I had the chance to babysit Kennedy. (Yes, I will drive over an hour to get to spend the day with this adorable girl.) On September 19th, Mike and I finally got to meet this adorable boy, and we couldn't be more excited to have him in our family. Kevin and Monique have created an amazing child, and they are wonderful parents. Congrats you two!

I can't believe it's true, but my adorable nephew turned two today. David and Julie threw an amazing cowboy and indian party on Saturday, complete with costumes. It was a great time.

So, I know it has been a very long time since I last blogged, and a huge summer post will be coming in a few weeks, but until then, I wanted to share some uplifting words.
Lately I have found myself getting really down with things that have been happening in our Country. I also know that there are many people, friends and family that are having different trials. While looking up something on our Stake website, I came across this quote. How thankful I am for our knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I think it is very important to do everything that we can to better ourselves and society, and after all is said and done, we need to remember that Heavenly Father has a plan for all of us. Let us never lose faith.

My beautiful sister-in-law Kaylee is graduating next month, and she let me take some senior pictures of her. I LOVE the way they turned out! The first one is my absolute favorite. Straight out of the camera and gorgeous. Some of the others look a little washed out now that I see them on the blog, so I'll have to play with the colors a little.

Kaylee is such a talented and intelligent girl too, and Mike and I are so proud of her accomplishments!

Benefit Auction

Tomorrow, (Tuesday) my friend Amy, and her sister, are hosting an online auction on their website Serving Pink Lemonade. This auction is to benefit the son of a very good friend of ours. He is only 9 months old, and suffers from a disease called Junctional Epidermolysis Bullosa Herlitz. It is a terrible fatal disease, that cause blisters all over his body. The goal of this auction is to help raise money for his family to take him from California to Minnesota, for about a 3 month treatment.
Many people are making items to donate to this cause, and we were able to get some companies to donate also. Everything you see on this post has been donated, with 100% proceeds going to the Edling family. Visit the auction site for more information on these items, and to see what else has been donated.
There will also be a carnival/walk-a-thon in Norco, CA, on Saturday (May 1) to raise more money, if anyone feels like taking a small drive. Arwen managed to get a gift basket from Glen Ivy Hot Springs worth $160 that will also be raffled off that day.

So, it has been awhile since my last post, and I thought I would begin again where I left off last time. The day after our 20's party, we had another family party, with again more than one theme. We were saying good-bye to Beau and Christine, and Happy Birthday to Jana.
Just a little about Beau and Christine...This amazing couple received a great opportunity to move to Miami, and being such a close family, this move was hard on all of us. I absolutely adore Christine, she's one of those people that can make anyone feel comfortable. I really miss seeing her at family events.

As I mentioned, we also celebrated Jana's birthday. For those of you who aren't family, Jana is Mike's aunt, although she is younger than him. Jana is the life of every party. Loving and funny, you can't help but smile when she's around. Although this isn't the best shot of her, I love this picture, because the cake started to catch on fire. I think it captures the fun we have together.

These are some random shots from the party. I don't think I took any of these pictures, but I love the one Kaylee got of Kevin and Kennedy playing cards together. Yes, we start them early in this family.

I have practically no pictures of Easter, although it was so much fun! Arwen and Bryan joined us for the Pitt Easter Egg Hunt. My favorite tradition, because us older "kids" still get to hunt for eggs.

Finally, during Spring Break, I was able to go to Corona for a few days. Unfortunately, Mike had to work. However, one of the nights I was down, I went to a small carnival with most of my siblings. We didn't stay long, but it was fun to see Kennedy and Noah, (and capture some of their silly expressions), and to spend time with everyone who went. I love how excited Brian was to be there. He is so much fun, and he is constantly making us laugh.
So, that's it. It's been a fun 2 months!

Roaring 20's!

Mike and I have been having so much fun this last month, and that means tons of things to post. So, I have a lot to catch up on.
Julie planned a great evening for all of us a couple of weeks ago. We had a 1920's party, in the orange groves, to celebrate the first day of spring, and St. Patrick's Day. It was so much fun!

David and Julie did a beautiful job decorating, and I brought my record player, and some 20's records to help set the mood. The night couldn't have gone any better. It is always so much fun to spend time with my siblings. I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to spend these times with them. Baby Everett

Last Friday, I got the opportunity to take some pictures of this adorable baby. His parents are friends with Breana and Jordan, and they were nice enough to let me practice my photography skills on him.

Everett was not happy when we started out, but his mom got him smiling in no time!

How adorable are those big eyes!? I love them. I was really excited to take pictures of a baby that I'm not related to, it felt like a real job almost.

These are some of my favorite shots, and I really learned a lot. Looking back on all the photos, I realized there were some things I could do to make them better, and I'm actually really happy that I can say that, because next time, I will remember not to make those mistakes.

Valentine's Day

This year Mike and I spent the weekend in Orange County. On Saturday, we met up with Bre and Jordan, (and Kennedy) and went to Cafe Rio, then David and Julie joined us at the Great orange County Park. I saw this on a friend's blog, all of the activities at the park are free, but it was pretty crowded that weekend. We decided to skip the ice skating, but we did go on the balloon. 400 feet in the air! If you could see my left hand in the picture, you would see that I am holding on very tightly. I'm terrified of heights, but the ride was brief, and pretty.
Unfortunately, I was also feeling pretty sick that weekend. I found out today that my tonsils are infected. I blame school. One week there, and I'm already sick.

So, normally I would never put a picture up on here like this of myself, but I just had to, because this is one of the few pictures I have of me and Kennedy, where neither of us are making really weird faces.
And, this is a post about my birthday. I have been dreading turning 27. I know to some, that is still young, but to me, it feels so old. Not just the number, but it is kind of a realization of how far I thought I would be in my life at this point. I've been thinking a lot about this the last 6 months or so. I really thought my life would be different. Some things I just didn't do, and some things are completely out of my control.
I really thought I would have children by now. In fact, I often think I should have a six year old, a four year old, a two year old, and a baby. Crazy huh? I know I can't control these things, but yet I still feel like I have been denied.
I don't usually write about my everyday thoughts on here, which is kind of weird. I never write about not having children, yet that is usually what's on my mind. I try to only write about the happy things that happen to me. So there you have it, a glimpse of what I think.
As I mentioned, I was dreading this birthday, but I actually think it was one of the best. Mike and I went down to Corona on Saturday, where we had a great party with my family. It was so much fun seeing everyone! Bre even put Kennedy in a special outfit for me! I got many thoughtful gifts, but having everyone there was more than a gift.
Sunday, we headed over to Riverside to celebrate Kevin's and my birthday. Again, it was so great! I cannot express how spoiled I felt this last weekend, and how loved I felt. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful family on both sides. Thank you to everyone!

New Year's Eve

This year (last year) for New Year's Eve, we went down to Corona again, for the annual dodge ball game. This year we also played some broom hockey too, and it was so much fun! Thank you to everyone who came, it's always better with more people.

We really got our money's worth with these dollar store brooms. I think only a few survived the night.

After dodge ball, broom hockey, a crazy game of horse, tag, red light-green light, and some races,(great ways to burn off the calories we knew we be eating) Mike and I headed to Riverside to play some card games and ring in the New Year. It was a great night, and we loved being able to spend so much time with our friends and family!

Kennedy"s Blessing

Wow, it seems like Mike and I have hardly been home this December. There are so many wonderful things that have been happening, and I hope to be able to post them all. These will be completely out of order though, because I'm going to start with last Sunday.
Last Sunday, Kennedy was blessed. It was so great to be able to be there, and witness Jordan blessing his first daughter. He did a great job.

My whole immediate family was able to attend the blessing, and many of the Holmes as well.

The nephew and niece being passed around. We really need more babies on our side of the family; we can't seem to get enough of these cute kids!

And finally, just because I did one after Noah's blessing: the many faces of Kennedy. Some of these are older pictures, but I swear this girl looks different in every one we take. Thankfully I was able to see a lot of my family this weekend, and when I wasn't holding Kennedy, I was taking pictures of her. She is so adorable!

Gena and her sister did the photography for Breana's wedding. They are amazing! Seeing as how I love photography, I read Gena's blog all the time. I keep a link to her blog in a file titled "Inspiration". Someday I hope to be able to take pictures like her. Not only are her pictures beautiful, but she is beautiful inside and out. Having her and her sister do Breana's wedding was great. They were so imaginative and creative.

Happily Ever After!

Beau and Christine were finally married on November 7.
We couldn't be more thrilled to have this Beautiful, smart girl as part of our family!

From the very start, Christine has felt like part of the family. The love these two share is so strong, and we have no doubt that it will last for many years to come.
It was great to be able to witness their wedding, and see them become one.

Kennedy Pictures!

Two very different pictures of Kennedy. She doesn't even look like the same baby! I love these though. The first one looks a lot like Bre to me, but I'm not sure why.

The proud parents just moments after we were allowed in. Breana did such a good job, and seemed so calm and relaxed. She is a natural mother.

Yes, I took a lot of pictures. Who could blame me though. My first neice. Jordan is a great father, he takes care of Kennedy so well, and is so gentle. Some of these were taken on my phone, so they are not good quality, but I like having pictures of her that I can look at anytime. Kennedy comes home today, I can't wait to go back down there and see her!

I'm at my parent's house, so i can't post pictures yet, but baby Kennedy is here!
7lbs 6oz, and 20 inches.
She is adorable, and already such a sweet baby. Hardly cries, and when she does, she sounds like a little lamb. She looks so much like her Daddy, and I can't wait to see if that will change or not as she starts to grow.

Finally Fall!

Ok, so I know it has been technically Fall for at least a week now, but this is the first week that it has really felt like it here in California.
I love Fall! I love the chill in the air, I love being able to wear cute sweaters, I love rain, I love the colors, I love crunching leaves when I walk, I love watching General Conference, I love watching college football, I love Halloween (my favorite holiday), I love Thanksgiving. Although school started about a month ago, I always loved going back to school as a kid. I loved buying new clothes and supplies, getting to see everyone again, getting to have new teachers and classes. (Yes, I'm a dork.) I always feel that same feeling, each year, even though it has been years since I have been in high school or elementary.
Yes, I love everything about this time of year, and I am so excited that it is here. Last night I started decorating our home for Halloween. Also, just to really get me in the spirit for Halloween, I start watching scary/Halloween movies every day for the entire month. So much fun!

My adorable nephew Noah turned 1, and David and Julie threw an awesome party.
Julie made Noah's whole costume, even the hat! We all dressed up for the party, and lots of friends and family showed up. This boy is so loved, and we are so grateful for him and the joy that he brings to our whole family!

Slow Club

Saturday night, Mike, Arwen, Breana, Jordan and I were able to go see Slow Club, one of our favorite bands. They were amazing. They started the show on the floor, just the two of them playing guitars and singing. It was unlike any other show I've been to, unfortunately though, their set was way too short, only about 6 songs. (Please don't judge the crappy pictures, I had to use my cell phone.)

Slow Club is from England, and I honestly never thought they would come out here and play, so I was thrilled for them to come. I had been looking forward to this show for a few months,and it was worth the wait. They are one of the bands that I love to sing and dance too, especially with my tamborine (inspired by Bre's). And, just so all of you can see what I'm talking about, I put a playlist with some of their songs on the side of my blog. They are beautiful, and fun. See if you recognize which one of those songs is on a commercial.

Independence Day Fun!

For the 4th of July, we usually head to Huntington Beach, to watch the fireworks at the pier, but this year we went to Jana and Loren's house for a block party. I have to say, this was way better than going to the beach. There is something so classic about a block party, and we loved it.

Every house hosted something different. We had a potluck lunch/dinner, and then enjoyed free snow cones and cotton candy.

To make things more exciting, Loren and Jana started an air hockey tournament. Mike and I have a long standing competition at air hockey, so it was fun to beat him at the last moment. I am however no match for Loren.

Fireworks are legal in Lakewood, so we were able to buy some fun ones, and light them off ourselves. As you can see, we tried to make some fun shapes with the sparklers. Mike and I kept trying to get a heart, but we just weren't coordinated enough. The bottom corner picture will have to count as an M for Morris. Tara was a pro though; she made some pretty cool designs.

Thank you Jana and Loren, we had a great time! There is nothing better than celebrating with family and friends, especially on the 4th of July. I am so grateful for this Country, and for the freedoms that we experience. I have no doubt that God made it possible for us to have the rights and the privileges that we enjoy every day.

For the past few months, I have been reading this blog "The Rockstar Diaries". It is way cute and inspiring, and she has been posting different "happy"lists. So, I have decided to do my own, and I am hoping that those who read this post will make one for themselves too. Besides the obvious (Mike, family, church, etc...) While my list could get pretty long, here are 10 little things that make me oh so happy. What would be on your list?

1. Stepping on leaves in the fall, and making them crunch.
2. Shooting a really good picture.
3. Finding something awesome at a thrift store.
4. Riding my bike on a cool day.
5. Beach bonfires.
6. Running barefoot through wet grass.
7. Seeing a shooting star.
8. Singing at the top of my lungs, with no one around.

9. The smell of the breeze through our front windows in the spring.
10. Being woken up by the sun on my face.

I know I haven't been posting lately, but now that school is almost over, I hope that will change.
As we all know, last week was Mother's Day, and how could I not write about the wonderful Mothers I have?
The first picture is my mom and I. That is my mom, after 4 kids. It amazes me that she never shows age. My mom is absolutely beautiful on the outside, and the inside. She is funny, and clever, and smart. A lot of people think she is quiet, but she isn't. She just doesn't show that side all the time. I think I am a lot like her in that sense.
I love when people tell me that I am like my mom, whether it is an appearance, or personality. She is a wonderful person. She has had many hardships, and life has not been easy, but she has always been an example to her children. She is a wonderful example of love, faith, and understanding, and I love her.
The next picture is Mike, and his mom, Karen. I am so lucky to have Karen as my mother-in-law. She is always willing to teach me. She makes me feel loved everytime I am around her. Talking to Karen is always easy. When we get a chance to be with Mike's family, I find myself wanting to just sit and talk with Karen. I think she possesses many of the qualities that my mom has. She is beautiful, she is smart, she is fun, and she is spiritual. I love her, and I am so thankful for the love that she shows me.

Lisa's Wedding

It has been way too long since I have posted! On March 7, Lisa and Brian got married. Lisa looked absolutely beautiful, and Brian looked great too. I am grateful that Lisa was able to meet a good man, and that the whole family was able to get together for her wedding. Lisa has such a good heart, and I know she will be an amazing wife and mother. I love her, and I am excited for the new life that the two of them will be sharing. Congratulations you two!

I'm Back

Okay, so I purposely cut myself off from the world for awhile. Something happened, and I felt the need to close myself up, and try to block out the world for awhile. I don't know if any of that makes sense, but sorry for not inviting anyone to the blog. The good news is I hadn't posted anything anyways, so you didn't miss out.
Last weekend we celebrated my 26th birthday. (I'll have to post the embarrassing "blowing out the candles picture" later.) I can't believe that I am that old already. This birthday was filled with mixed emotions. I am so happy, and blessed to be alive, but ashamed that I haven't done more with my life. I want to really take more advantage of the time that I have, and constantly make myself a better person.

Christmas and New Year's(Finally!)

Ok, so I am finally getting all these pictures put up. Decorating our home for Christmas was really fun this year. We didn't have quite as many decorations as we thought we did, but it was enough. I was able to make the cute Christmas plaque at an enrichment activity in November, and I loved the way it looked. And although our Christmas tree was crooked, it was still great. I love having a Christmas tree in the house; there is nothing quite like that smell to give you the Christmas feel!

Once again we were able to visit both sides of the family on Christmas. It was great! I love being able to see everyone. We had a wonderful Christmas. Mike bought me the bike I've really been wanting, and my parents bought us rock band. We have been playing that none stop. We are so thankful for all the gifts we received, thank you everyone. Karen and Skip bought us some Olive Garden gift cards, which were great for our anniversary.

For New Year's Eve., David has started a tradition of playing dodge ball at the church. There weren't too many people there, just family, but it was still fun. However, Mike and I versus David and Jordan, can be a little scary. I think I screamed every time one of them threw the ball. As you can see in the pictures, everyone was a little silly that night. Before midnight, we headed back to my parent's house, and played some more rock band. I swear that games is so addicting. My parents even started to play a little, but even watching people play is fun. Of course, we also went outside and screamed at midnight. Believe it or not, my family really can make a lot of noise. I am looking forward to another great year with my family!

Spin Classes

Today was my first real workout day in my new spin class, and I am sore! Everyone told me that these classes were intense, but that's not the problem. The problem is the seats on these bikes. I told Mike last night that it feels like I am sitting on a thin brick cross. I'm out to buy a seat cover this afternoon, and I really hope it works. Until then, I think I'll have to sit on a pillow! Hopefully I will get our Christmas, Anniversary and New Year's pictures up soon too.

Thanksgiving and Temple

For some reason my pictures loaded in opposite order, so you get the best news first. That's right, last Saturday Arwen went to the temple! I can't really put into words how happy and excited I was for her. She has truly changed. She looked so beautiful in her temple dress, and it all just felt so right. I love her, and I am so happy that she has chosen this path. She is a beautiful person, inside and out, and I love how close we have become lately!

Thanksgiving was great. I didn't take too many pictures though. Last year David and Julie had us over for dinner a couple of nights before thanksgiving, and Julie made hats for us. This year she made them again. She's so clever and fun. Of course Noah looked adorable in his. I loved being able to spend the whole weekend with my family. Unfortunately Lisa went with Brian's family, but she had a great time, and I got to spend some time with her Friday night. I love my family, and I love how wonderful everything has been lately.

I am Thankful For...

Happy Thanksgiving! I have been wanting to do a separate blog for each one of my family members, but I procrastinate, so that never happened. I am so very thankful for my family, and I want everyone to know how much I love them. My Dad is without a doubt the most intelligent person I know. I love that I can ask him about anything. I also love that he has such a strong testimony of the church. And, I love that me and him have so much in common. My Mom and Dad both have a great sense of humor, they crack me up all the time. Everyone that knows my mom knows that she is very sweet, but many people don't know that she is so funny. She is also very artistic.
Lisa has always been a role model to me. I used to love going shopping with her when I was younger, and I still do! She always takes care of everyone, and I know she is going to be a great mother. David is another role model for me. He is smart, spiritual, and creative. Everyone that meets him loves him, because he is so good-natured.
Arwen and I were very close growing up. We are only about 18 months apart. Arwen has always watched out for me. She stuck up for me in school, and made sure that I always had a friend. I loved that we were able to go to school together. Breana will always be my "little sister." The two of us became very close when I was in high school. When I went out with my friends, we often invited her along. She was always very mature for her age, and she is a ton of fun. I wish I could be as outgoing as her.
Now that we are all getting older, I have been blessed with great in-laws. Brian is hilarious. He is pretty witty, and very outgoing. He is one of those people that seems to know about everything. Julie has become as much a sister as all my others. I loved having her living so close to us. She constantly inspires me be a better person, and she is very creative. Jordan, is the laid back person I wish I was. He is funny, and smart, and very caring. I love that he has a strong testimony, and that he takes such good care of Bre.
Last, but certainly not least, is my wonderful husband Mike. Mike is so smart and loving. He is a talented artist, but also an amazing cook. He works very hard to support us, and then still comes home and pampers me. He has taught me so much since we have been married.
I love my family more than anything, and they are my best friends!
I haven't forgotten the family that I married in to, but that is for my next blog. :)

Bolt

A couple of weeks ago Mike and I got to go to the wrap party for Bolt. The movie came out Friday, and I highly recommend it. This was the best Disney movie that I have seen in a long time. We even went to see it again with our friends and neighbors on Saturday, and it was just as good.
Not only was the movie great, but we got to see it in the Kodak Theatre, and it was followed by a party in the grand ballroom at Hollywood and Highland. I can't wait to go to a wrap party for the first movie that Mike gets to work on!

Sunday November 16, Mike's brother got married. It was great to see Kevin and Monique so happy. I'm glad that we were able to be there, and to spend the day with them and the rest of the family.

Monique looked beautiful, (unfortunately I can't get all the pictures to upload) and we are so excited to have her as a part of the family.

Noah's Blessing

Sunday November 2, was Noah's blessing. David did a wonderful job giving the blessing. It was very touching, and everyone there felt the Spirit. Here are the many faces of Noah.

Yes, we are "those" Aunts... The four of us jump at every chance we get to hold this handsome boy. Despite the look he is giving me here, he fell asleep in my arms for the first time that day. There is something so beautiful about a baby falling asleep in your arms. I love it, and I love my nephew!

Politics

All this week, Mike and I have been able to go out in the morning and hold signs for Prop.8. This has been the first time that I have really been active in a political issue, and for the most part it has been really fun. In the evenings I get to go out and rally again while Mike is at work. The evenings are probably the most fun, because a lot of people go. Tonight some of the opposition came over too. I wasn't too happy that they had some signs calling us bigots. That is a strong word, and I think it is a scare tactic, no one wants to be seen as a bigot. Anyway, back to the point tonight really showcased political freedom, and I loved it. Everyone talked to the "no on 8" crowd, and hopefully they saw the kind of people we are. There was no tension there. That is what America should be. During election time, people tend to forget just how much we have in common.
If only everyone could be so civil. I have been flipped off and called names so many times this week. Not fun, I'm still a pretty sensitive person. Others out there with me this week have had things thrown at them, and been mooned. The worst part is, that there are kids out there, and they shouldn't have to see and hear those things. A car full actually flipped our group off right in front of a cop, and were immediately pulled over. If only they could catch everyone.

I was fortunate enough to stand by this man tonight. He is at all the evening rallies. He is our congressman Buck McKeon. I love this guy! He is so kind, and funny, and I love that he chooses to hold this sign every night.

This last picture is what one corner looked like tonight, but we covered all 4. On Monday night, we had a great rally. CNN came and filmed. It was amazing to see how crowded it was; at least 10 times more crowded than tonight.
I hope that everyone will come to understand the importance of this issue before Tuesday.

Another Round of Birthdays!

Brian, Arwen, Julie and Mike W. all have October birthdays so once again the family got together. I love the pictures of them blowing out the candles, but I will probably get some pay back when my birthday comes around.
Yes, the cake is on a chair again...It's just easier that way. :)

Noah and the Whale

No, despite the name, this is not another post about my "oh-so-cute" nephew. Last Monday Mike and I went to see a band Noah and the Whale. We discovered this band some time ago on the myspace friend list of an amazing band Slow Club. Anyways, since then Noah and the Whale has popped up everywhere. You have probably heard their song 5 Years Time on the Saturn commercial, or I believe on a Sun Chips commercial. Some people criticize bands for being on commercials, I say the commercial needs music, might as well be a song you like.
Okay, getting back to Monday night. We went to this little place called Spaceland. It was completely free, and we were able to be about a foot away from the band. I love places like that! Sometimes it just feels so good to be in a small place hearing music you love so loudly that you don't have to think, you become completely absorbed into each song. It has been a few years since we were able to go to a show like this, and I loved every second of it. If you haven't heard them, I suggest you check them out although probably not everyone will like them. (I did take pictures, but honestly they aren't that great.)

Yes on Prop.8!

This will probably be my only post without pictures, but the most important one to date. Wednesday night there was a broadcast talking about Prop.8. I was in class, but thakfully Mike went, andthey said to blog about this issue. Although I'm pretty sure everyone that reads my blog has the same views as me, you never know. Also, maybe this will help to open some discussions on how we can better communicate the importance of this Proposition.
I can't say I am very impressed with the commercial I have seen supporting Prop.8. I hope we are not missing the very important effects of this. Marriage by definition is between man and woman. A girl in my ward put it best by stating that Marriage is an eternal law, as eternal as any law of the universe. It was in effect when God himself was married. We do not have the right nor the authority to change that law.
Some people may think that we are denying rights to others by passing this. We are not, same sex couples still have all the rights of married couples. Those will not be taken away. David told me a conversation between him and a co-worker. (I'm not quoting people exactly, just what I can remember from the conversation). The man David was speaking to is gay. He asked David, "so you are saying that I shouldn't be allowed to get married?" David replied "I am all for you getting married. If you want to go out and find a girl and get married, I completely support you, and I hope that you do, because that's what marriage is; the union of a man and woman." (David has a way with words, so I'm sure he worded this better.) So, anyone can get married. We are not taking this right away, you just need to understand that marriage is between a man and woman, and we can not change that definition.
There are so many other reasons why we should vote Prop.8. If it does not pass, churches could be sued for not marrying gay couples, and for not letting them adopt. Churches in Massachusetts where gay marriage is legal, have already stopped adoption services. Children growing up in homes of same-sex couples will be denied the very important attributes that only Fathers and Mothers can provide. Each child needs a Father and a Mother. Neither can replace the other.
I'm not very good at organizing my thoughts, but I hope that this will make sense to all those that read it, and that it will help you to be motivated to take action to preserve marriage.

HalloweenTime

Mike got his silver pass a couple of weeks ago, so last weekend we headed to Disneyland. Is it wrong that this pass was one of the main reasons I wanted Mike to get this job? I love Halloween, and Disneyland, so it was fun to go while the decorations are up.

Although Julie isn't supposed to go on rides, David and her came with us. We didn't have too much to worry about anyway. We got there late in the evening, and it was still crowded!

Last weekend at our family birthday party, I finally got a chance to take some pictures of David and Julie with Noah. I just love any chance I get to be with that sweet baby!

It amazes me how natural parenthood seems to be with these two.

I know David and Julie were pretty exhausted that night, but I really don't think you can tell from the pictures; they always manage to look great!

Baby Noah!

Friday afternoon David and Julie were off to the hospital for Noah's birth, and early this morning he came! I won't go into too many of the details, because I'm sure they want to tell everyone, but I couldn't resist putting up some pictures.

8lbs 14oz. and 22 in. long, he is so adorable! I could hardly take my eyes off of him!

Mike and I are now Uncle and Aunt for the first time, and we already have so much love for our perfect little nephew!

3 Little Kittens

Our little cat Mei, had kittens about 5 weeks ago, and I have promised to post pictures of them.

Having kittens again has been really fun, they are so cute and playful; I love it! In fact, I'm pretty sure that Mike now wants to keep the black and white one. Still not sure where the other two are going, but we have some possibilities.

Goodbye Simpsons.....

After only 2 years of working at The Simpsons, Mike is moving on to something different...
Disney!
Having Mike working at The Simpsons has been really fun though. It has been a great opportunity for Mike to grow and learn in animation. Also, we have had the chance to go to alot of fun parties and events.
Disney will be just as great I am sure. They offer many learning experiences as well, and Mike won't have to worry about the morality of the work he is asked to do. Not that Simpsons is that bad, but it would be nice for him to do something that he knows won't offend anyone.
Congratulations Mike! You are so very talented, and I am very proud of all the effort you put forth in your work. I know this is just the beginning of your success!

Julie's Baby Shower

Lisa's Engagement

Breana and Jordan's Wedding

Well, I should have done this sooner, but I am finally getting around to posting Breana's wedding. August 9, 2008 Breana and Jordan were sealed for eternity in the Los Angeles temple. It was such a beautiful wedding and reception, and I am so thankful that I was able to be there.

Breana and Jordan looked so happy all day. I am very glad that she has found such a good man to be her husband. They are both great people, and I love and admire them.

Congratulations you two, we love you very much!

Our New(ish) Home

Now that we have officially been moved into our new home for about 2 months, it is time that we put up some pictures.

We were so excited to actually buy furniture that reflected our taste. Thank you stimulus check!

I still haven't figured out where we are going to put all of our pictures, so our walls are very bare. These birds from Blik are the only things up so far, but I love them. I have been holding on to them for a few years, so it was fun to finally use them.

Bridal Shower!

So, Breana's bridal shower was a couple of weeks ago, and since we haven't posted anything on here yet, I thought this would be a good subject to start with. I had a ton of fun spending the weekend with my sisters, and I am very excited for this beautiful bride-to-be!

You have to thank Lisa for this embarrassed expression.

It was actually really fun to put together the decorations, and see them turn out the way we had hoped. The orange and green pom poms were Martha Stewart inspired, although Julie's creativity led to the substitution of green napkins when tissue paper couldn't be found.

These cute bird picks were designed by Mike, and put together by Arwen and I. I love the way they turned out. So cute!
